Real-time Password Blacklist

Performance Last 30 Days

Password RBL aggregate stats

Here you can see just how well the Password RBL service is performing in real-time!

The pie chart shows the percentage of queries to the API over the entire lifetime of the service for all (non-honeypot) sources.  Additionally the last 30 days are shown.

Our aggregate match rate has decreased since the beginning of our service.  This is a GOOD thing.  This means that subscribers are getting better at choosing passwords.  But even today the aggregate match rate is around 10% so that means if you aren't a subscriber now, one in ten of your users is has a blacklisted password!

How to interpret these numbers

The values you see here show the number of submissions to the API that resulted in a positive match to a hashed password value.  These numbers are based on each individual submission to the API, even if they are from the same end-user (since the API cannot know the true source of API queries).

For example, if the performance graph shows a 10% rate of performance over the past month, that means that 1 in 10 submissions to the API resulted in a blacklist match.
